Book overview: It comes out that this son of Martha and George is a made up kid. It's a little game the play because Martha is infertile. After this shocking news comes out Honey and Nick leave with nothing to say. The one rule of their game was to never bring this son up to anyone. Since this rule was broken when Martha brings up the idea to create a new fake child George shoots her idea down. On the last page of the book Martha starts to sing the little song she made up from the beginng of the book: "Who's afraid of virginia woolf? virginia woolf, virginia woolf, who's afraid of virginia woolf? La, la, la,la, la." George turns to her and says: " I am." I thought that was very inreasting. I wonder how that might tye into the whole made up son. Back in the very first pages Martha sings her song and George seems really bothered by it. It may be that he is just unhappy in his marriage or it could be related to the "game". If I was to make a prequel I would take all of character and it was walk through more of how the met and how the couples got married. It talks about it in the book but this could break it down more. All the same characters, but years before and different settings, opposed to just one room. Pretty much just the progression of how they got to where they are in the book I just read. I would want to really get into how Martha and George started to game of their fake son. I will be commenting on Sofia Mertz and Mariana Alvarez blogs |
