Update: It is revealed that Nick only married Honey because she was pregnant but it turned out to be a hysterical pregnancy. Previously George had said he did not have any children but Martha took Honey that they had a son and it was going to be his birthday the next day. George keeps implying that it is not his child, but no one has come out said that it is not his child expect for George. There is no further explanation of that just yet. Another part that came out was that the reason for Martha and George got married was because her father wanted her to marry someone he could groom to takeover when he was in his old age. At the time they thought George would be perfect for the job but over time they decided that he was not right anymore. He is still bitter to this day that he was not given the job and regrets getting hitched with Martha. If I was in this book I would be a bit disturbed. Everyone moods change every scene. The character that I would want to be friends with would be Martha because if I'm all buddy with her she might not kill me. I also would want to know about what is going on in her head. I would want to be more of a fly on the wall more than anything. Just to observe the interactions would be fascinating. All the scream fits they get into I wouldn't want to get in the middle of that. If I needed to be an add on I would be some sort of maid that work around the house. As for my character's personally, I would be very timid, reserved, and skittish. One character I could get along with would be Nick. Nick is the most sane character out of the four. Even though I want to be friends with Martha that doesn't mean we would get along. She is so unpredictable and with my character being so coy our personalities would clash. I will commenting on Sofia and Mariela

Update: An update on the book is the after party is still going on at Martha and George’s house. The women go upstairs to freshen up. The guys stay in the living room trying to get to know each other. George pulled out a gun and pretended to shoot Martha in the head. It scared Honey halfway to death As for the character relationships, they are really interesting. For Martha and George’s relationship is really aggressive. Aggressive yet really sexual. After Honey (The wife of Nick who is the professor at the same college as George and Martha’s father) and Martha came back downstairs and George pulled out a gun and pretended to shoot Martha in the head but Martha wasn’t scared. It made her more attracted to George. Their relationship is twisted. They are always yelling at each other and using strange voices. I think that the only reason George married Martha is because her father is high up at the college. I still believe that one of the two is going to kill someone. They are twenty something years into this married and seem miserable but are still together. As for Nick and Honey, they are young and new to the whole married life. Still in that honeymoon phase. Honey is a very reserved tame person at first but I feel she is a wild on inside. Honey is freaked out by how Martha and George interact with each other. Nick is kind of emotionless. If I was to give advice to anyone it would be Nick, there is not a main main character but he seems to be struggling with understanding how to handle situations. I was tell him not to fight back all the time. Sometimes staying out of the way of Martha and George fights will keep him and Honey safer. Not just right not but Martha's father could firer Nick if Martha told him to. Martha is was some could call a "Daddy's Girl". All of these relationships effect the story. All of them bring tension to the story. Entry #1
Book Overview: This is about a couple that go by the names of Martha and George. Martha a boozy wife and George a history professor. Martha's father is the the head professor at a college where George works at. After a dinner party one night, Martha invites over a new professor over today have a few laughs and drinks. When the arrive it puts out the unpleasant sides of there personalities. Predicting: From what I have read so far, Martha and George are not happy in their relationship. The way that they fight comes across really playful yet aggressive. It one of the play suggestions for how to say the line it said "murderously". I really think that Martha is going to kill someone. She could also be set up at a red- haring and someone else will do the deed. Something unexpected is gonna happen I can feel it. I will be commenting on Sofia Mertz and Mariela Alvarez |
