Welcome to the Worlds Fair! I am representing the country Sweden! My group and I made a church called the kirama kyuam. This is iconic because it is the oldest wooden building in Sweden. Not only does it have beautiful architecture on the outside but the inside as well. if I’m being honest it was not my first choice to build this church. regardless I’m still happy with how it turned out it better than I imagined it would ever come out. as a last-minute product we made the propeller. even though we didn’t have a lot of time on it I’m so proud of the product. it actually was fully functioning propeller. we chose to do this because we felt the building was not enough to represent our country. Final Building: Luckily I had a bunch of star foam handy so we decided to sculpt it out of the foam. This material is very messy and difficult to work with. In the end it worked out great for us. We also had a really hard time finding the proper way to cut these pieces. first thought was to use a hot wire cutter but we did not have one at her disposal. we took the long way and hand carved out with an X-Acto knife. asked for the assembly that was the most difficult part. The foam was so sensitive that with hot glue it would just melt right through it. I tried regular glue gorilla glue but did not work. in the end I had to tape inside together because nothing would stick. even though it was not the most glamorous way to do it it worked.
I was not the one Focus on the propeller but when I helped with was just gonna get onto the platform so it would actually not move around. The color was so strong that it kept shaking off the stand that we made and so it’s not the most stable of things. |
This was not easy process. The first thing we did was make a Proto type that was made out of cardboard this give us a chance to see with measurements works best. for the final product we had a hard time deciding what material to use my first thoughts or to use wood but that is very costly. another reason we couldn’t use wood is because the cuts would be final.
Proto Type: Throughout this project I learned a lot of new things about Sweden. I really never knew how beautiful it was there and how well people Sweden treat the country. A lot of great things originated in Sweden and not just the meatball. Things like the propeller, zipper, and ultrasound were founded in Sweden. Sweden was also one of the first counties to move forward in women equality in the work force. I'm very proud I was able to represent this beautiful.

Exhibition Reflection:
Our booth at exhibition was very successful. we had a lot of visitors and a lot of it’s towards our booth. our elevator pitch was Time and then elevator ride but it was convincing. We have meatballs that attracted a lot people to our booth. my whole group and I worked really great together when I came to pitching to somebody. We all intertwined our speeches so we all got enough talking time in.
I felt or set up was attractive but could’ve had more. The whole look of the booth was kind of a afterthought in this project but we did still have a sign and a flag. Overall I felt successful and proud of my work. |
