A lot of things have changed. Logan’s life has finally come to his end. He is on his last day and decides he wants to go to a doctor to get some facial rearrangements. Things of the doctors don’t go very well me and that meeting the sibling to The runner that he had previously killed. He is a blinking with her because he has his key to the place where that supposedly it’s to protect the runners. He ends up going to a party and meeting some very interesting characters like a little girl. at the party they come in counter with cubs which is humans that I’ve gone crazy and act as wild animals. This book really remind me of blade runner. I say this because of the five it has. It is very futuristic and dark, everyone seems unhappy but lives life to the fullest. I don’t see a lot of similarities in their government compared to ours which is a good thing. Their world is very controlled with not a lot of freedoms. One issues I see that somewhere is over population and that’s one of the reasons why they died 21 is so there’s room for more people in the world. Since The citizens don’t live very long they seem in away depressed but also fearless. knowing that your life is not very long you take more chances and you’re able to see more of the world.

In this world people can only live till they are of the age of 21. It is set this way so the population can be under control. There are crystals in the citizens hands that changes colors as they get closer to the age of 21. A lot of people don't agree with this system and try to run. The main character, Logan, is a DS officter that tracks down runners. Logan is a very depressed and calm person. I am curious to learn more about him and his past.
I have read a dystopian book before, The Giver. I like it so far. It's not exactly what I expected which I kind of like. There is a lot more prostitution that I thought there would be but I feel that helps the read imagination the world more. I see similarities in the actions of the people. Some are all for following the rules of the city but others want to find away to disable it. These people have the questions that can't be answered. This book does take place on earth in the year 2116 The book has not mentioned much detail yet on how it became the way it is. I am interested and excited to read more. ":National School Walkout: Portland students planning Friday rally and march to City Hall" By Eder Campuzano | The Oregonian/OregonLive | Posted April 17, 2018 at 01:25 PM This up coming Friday, April 20th, is the 19th anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting.these students in Portland going to Rally down at the City Hall in march. The students that are putting this together being very secretive about where they’re going and all the details towards this. The students decided it was best for the faculty to know the smallest amount just so they stay out of the way. They are trying to show that this is a bigger issue that is being considered. They want to bring attention to gun violence and put a stop to it. This is not only taking place in Portland but is happening all across the country. students from the Portland will not get excused absences on Friday. it’s not playing all schools but does for them. The original idea was to walk out on Friday not come back to school until the gun laws were adjusted. A lot of holes not plan so now it is just to walk out and her pay respects towards people who have been affected I gun violence. As for my opinion on all the walkouts it is that I feel like definitely getting the worlds attention, is it really going to get the government change their minds? I don’t know what else we really could do to convince these biased adults and we all have our own opinions but it’s really hard as a youth to be heard by the authority. A lot of adults think that the youth get over events very quickly, that we won’t stay on long enough to make a difference. They’re just waiting until we run out of energy. I don’t see an end to this fight anytime soon. I don’t think students to be punished for walking out on Friday. I say this because they’re standing up for what they believe in and that’s what even taught to do. it’s in a peaceful way and not harming anybody. Book overview: It comes out that this son of Martha and George is a made up kid. It's a little game the play because Martha is infertile. After this shocking news comes out Honey and Nick leave with nothing to say. The one rule of their game was to never bring this son up to anyone. Since this rule was broken when Martha brings up the idea to create a new fake child George shoots her idea down. On the last page of the book Martha starts to sing the little song she made up from the beginng of the book: "Who's afraid of virginia woolf? virginia woolf, virginia woolf, who's afraid of virginia woolf? La, la, la,la, la." George turns to her and says: " I am." I thought that was very inreasting. I wonder how that might tye into the whole made up son. Back in the very first pages Martha sings her song and George seems really bothered by it. It may be that he is just unhappy in his marriage or it could be related to the "game". If I was to make a prequel I would take all of character and it was walk through more of how the met and how the couples got married. It talks about it in the book but this could break it down more. All the same characters, but years before and different settings, opposed to just one room. Pretty much just the progression of how they got to where they are in the book I just read. I would want to really get into how Martha and George started to game of their fake son. I will be commenting on Sofia Mertz and Mariana Alvarez blogs Entry #3
Update: It is revealed that Nick only married Honey because she was pregnant but it turned out to be a hysterical pregnancy. Previously George had said he did not have any children but Martha took Honey that they had a son and it was going to be his birthday the next day. George keeps implying that it is not his child, but no one has come out said that it is not his child expect for George. There is no further explanation of that just yet. Another part that came out was that the reason for Martha and George got married was because her father wanted her to marry someone he could groom to takeover when he was in his old age. At the time they thought George would be perfect for the job but over time they decided that he was not right anymore. He is still bitter to this day that he was not given the job and regrets getting hitched with Martha. If I was in this book I would be a bit disturbed. Everyone moods change every scene. The character that I would want to be friends with would be Martha because if I'm all buddy with her she might not kill me. I also would want to know about what is going on in her head. I would want to be more of a fly on the wall more than anything. Just to observe the interactions would be fascinating. All the scream fits they get into I wouldn't want to get in the middle of that. If I needed to be an add on I would be some sort of maid that work around the house. As for my character's personally, I would be very timid, reserved, and skittish. One character I could get along with would be Nick. Nick is the most sane character out of the four. Even though I want to be friends with Martha that doesn't mean we would get along. She is so unpredictable and with my character being so coy our personalities would clash. I will commenting on Sofia and Mariela Entry #2
Update: An update on the book is the after party is still going on at Martha and George’s house. The women go upstairs to freshen up. The guys stay in the living room trying to get to know each other. George pulled out a gun and pretended to shoot Martha in the head. It scared Honey halfway to death As for the character relationships, they are really interesting. For Martha and George’s relationship is really aggressive. Aggressive yet really sexual. After Honey (The wife of Nick who is the professor at the same college as George and Martha’s father) and Martha came back downstairs and George pulled out a gun and pretended to shoot Martha in the head but Martha wasn’t scared. It made her more attracted to George. Their relationship is twisted. They are always yelling at each other and using strange voices. I think that the only reason George married Martha is because her father is high up at the college. I still believe that one of the two is going to kill someone. They are twenty something years into this married and seem miserable but are still together. As for Nick and Honey, they are young and new to the whole married life. Still in that honeymoon phase. Honey is a very reserved tame person at first but I feel she is a wild on inside. Honey is freaked out by how Martha and George interact with each other. Nick is kind of emotionless. If I was to give advice to anyone it would be Nick, there is not a main main character but he seems to be struggling with understanding how to handle situations. I was tell him not to fight back all the time. Sometimes staying out of the way of Martha and George fights will keep him and Honey safer. Not just right not but Martha's father could firer Nick if Martha told him to. Martha is was some could call a "Daddy's Girl". All of these relationships effect the story. All of them bring tension to the story. Entry #1
Book Overview: This is about a couple that go by the names of Martha and George. Martha a boozy wife and George a history professor. Martha's father is the the head professor at a college where George works at. After a dinner party one night, Martha invites over a new professor over today have a few laughs and drinks. When the arrive it puts out the unpleasant sides of there personalities. Predicting: From what I have read so far, Martha and George are not happy in their relationship. The way that they fight comes across really playful yet aggressive. It one of the play suggestions for how to say the line it said "murderously". I really think that Martha is going to kill someone. She could also be set up at a red- haring and someone else will do the deed. Something unexpected is gonna happen I can feel it. I will be commenting on Sofia Mertz and Mariela Alvarez |
